Good Morning Love Bugs,
This weekend I was apart of something so monumental in the DMV: Eloquii’s first #MODELTHAT campaign! Now I know you’re like well that’s cool but what’s so important about that? Well for one, the meaning behind the campaign resonates so strong as it’s a campaign to truly celebrate curvy women in their every day lives for waking up & deciding to be amazing in all that they do. Secondly, as an influencer, it’s my first major campaign that was publicized for a national brand. Who wouldn’t be excited about that?
Lastly, it was a day focused on celebrating women owned business to pay appreciation to those who are inspiring, and “modeling that” in their every day lives through entrepreneurship and leadership. So what better way to do that? In a wrapped Eloquii Double Decker Bus to your around the city of course!!!!
Our first stop was Suburbia DC (find out more here Suburbia DC) which is pop-up summer bar adorned with classic beers, wines, and fun frozen summer cocktails. They also provided the most delicious artesian sandwiches that just made your mouth water. Most importantly, Suburbia is Minority owned and of course she’s a fabulous female. Pictured above the owner of suburbia wearing the smocked bodice puff dress from Eloquii’s summer collection, she gave insight on why it was important for her to start her businesses and empower herself to be an entrepreneur and why she supports the #ModelThat campaign. It was such an honor as a brown girl myself to see another one in the DMV killing it!!!!
Our next stop was Republic Restoratives, the only women owned distillery and bar in DC (find out about it more here Republic Restoratives). Not only is it owned by a woman, it proudly supports the LBGTQ community and has some of the smoothest spirits named after some heavy hitters in the political scene. Checkout these pics below:
It was amazing hearing her story and understanding the why behind all she does to be the best distillery in DC. Let me tell you that rum barrel bourbon was indeed my favorite!
To conclude, this experience was amazing!!!! Being around likeminded women all ready to uplift and celebrate one another couldn’t have been a better way to start the summer season! Big thanks to eloquii for making it all happen. Make sure you shop them curvy ladies, you won’t regret it.
