Happy Wednesday! This post won’t be long but I find it amusing that suddenly being BIG is accepted so much more than it has ever been in the past decade….and that some are surprised. I mean historically being larger framed was a symbol of opulence and wealth, so to be completely honest, history is just repeating itself….or maybe people are just getting real.
Let’s face it America is fat! Even our version of thin is still much larger than most countries across the world. With the unlimited access to processed foods, additives, and sugary confections….I’d say the battle to be less than a size 10 is a long & hard one. I mean after all that’s why this diet culture exists….because it feels like even a baked piece of chicken is still going to add to the waistline lol. Regardless, let’s embrace the shift ladies and keep being unapologetic about whatever body we choose to exist in. Your body….your rules…do what makes us feel comfortable.
More importantly, as all eras have their time, once things shift to some other trend, never forget that you aren’t “IT”! I think we can all agree after watching Lizzo at the BET awards this week, confidence is infectious, especially when you have it when most of society feels like you shouldn’t because you’re not “acceptable while fat” or don’t fall within the “acceptable fat” criteria (small fupa, big breasts, big butt, tiny waist) .
Know you’re IT! You are a MEAL! You are an entire vibe! An entire mood!!!! It’s one of those areas in life that took me so long to embrace but now that I’m here and our time is arriving….let’s kick down these stereotypes and standards ladies. What a time for our younger generation to be alive!!!! I know many of you can relate to not ever seeing women that looked like you on TV, in the toy stores, as sec symbols, or as models.
Now we have an entire industry dedicated to embracing our bodies! What a mood! So to conclude…. crush on you….you’ve been IT #WholeMeal
